No . 137 The Trusty Servant
XVs was an incredible spectacle . Flint Court looked resplendent in the morning , largely thanks to the efforts of Michael Bruzon ( Co Ro , 14- ) whose JP Art sets had painted banners for their teams , and of Rupert Mercer ( Coll , 04-09 ; Co Ro 18- ) who organised the display . The match lived up to the hype . OTH were expected to run away with it , especially on the back of beating the College X 106-13 , but the young Commoners put up a fierce display of hotting and some excellent kicking , and indeed led the game for the most part , only for OTH to find their form in the last ten minutes of the match and eventually win 43-41 .
VIs was less even , with OTH dominating both of their matches . A special mention must go to Lucas Payne ( A , 19- ) scoring an incredible 8 goals as a Hot Man . However , there is great hope for Commoners and College going
forward , as they both fielded young teams in their senior matches ( somewhat through necessity for College ), and JP Long Game was won comprehensively by a very strong Commoners team ( 39- 17 ).

The end of Short Half saw the usual busy lead into Christmas , with the School Concert showcasing the School ’ s orchestral talent . The Symphony Orchestra played Brahms ’ s 1 st Symphony and Alex Winnifrith ( I , 20- ) played , spectacularly , Hummel ’ s Trumpet Concerto with the Chamber Orchestra . The highlight of the last week of term is Cantores Episcopi ’ s post-Preces Mince Pies concerts which , as always , packed College Hall to the rafters for two nights in a row .
The Glee Club Cathedral concert moved to the beginning of Common Time , and Handel ’ s Messiah was performed to a sold-out Cathedral , conducted by Sarah Baldock ( Director of Music , 22 ). Chapel Choir recorded a live BBC
