There he changed focus from teaching and textbook writing to translation and information services and set up a company offering these services for non-Swedish speaking leaders in the business , diplomatic and public sectors . Director British Swedish Chamber of Commerce 1970-3 ; director , Beck Translations 1973 ; partner Nimbus Publications , Scandinavia . In the 1960s he adopted the principles of Buddhism and this came to define his life : Treasurer , Buddhist Temple Foundation , Stockholm ; founding member of the Stockholm Buddhist Vihara in 1985 . For over 40 years he was a constant friend and benefactor of the School for Deaf and Blind Children , Kandy . Joint author Telefonengelska and Business Handbook Sweden . He married Kanthi Wijesooriya in 1981 who survives him together with a daughter ; another daughter died in 1998 .

He had a wide experience of most aspects of litigation and more latterly specialised in commercial litigation and liquor licensing . He married Rosemary Forrester in 1985 .

He married Geraldine Seth in 1972 , who survives him together with their 3 daughters .
Colin Arthur Morris ( Coll , 56-60 ); died 28.1.2023 . Trinity College Cambridge , Nat Sci , BA 1964 , editor Varsity ; Brunel University MTech ( Computer Sci ) 1980 . He started with Mather and Crowther , an advertising agency , working on the campaign for the Egg Marketing Board , “ go to work on an egg ”. He transferred to IBM as a graduate trainee and in 1977 joined Donovan Data Systems in New York . In 1987 he moved to San Francisco , where he had a variety of occupations , including that of a Californian State registered locksmith . He worked for Diasonics ( a medical systems company , subsequently acquired by Toshiba ) and for Fair , Isaac and Company , a credit rating firm . In 2004 , he bought a house in Cahors where his years of retirement were as active as ever , taking part in the life of the local French and English communities . He married Margaret Hare in 1966 , marriage dissolved , and is survived by his partner Ann Pike .

Kennedy Scholar Lincoln ’ s Inn 1969 ; lecturer in law New College 1967- 71 ; legal instructor , University of Pennsylvania Law School 1966-7 ; called to the Bar 1968 ; commercial law chambers , Middle Temple ; Assistant Recorder 1984 ; QC 1987 . He specialised in commercial law , in particular the carriage of goods by sea , the international sale of goods , insurance and reinsurance and arbitration law . A much in-demand arbitrator and the sharpness of his legal mind was matched by his kindness , humour and generosity with his time . In 1998 he was appointed a visiting professor in maritime law at King ’ s College London . Author of Consumer Protection in the USA in Cambridge Law Journal 1969 ; general editor of MacGillivray on Insurance Law ; contributor to The Modern Law of Marine Insurance 2002 ; specialist editor for the Journal of International Maritime Law 2003 .
David Gareth Bancroft Lloyd ( I , 56-60 ); died 10.8.2022 . Son of IBL . Welsh Gds 1961 ; Germany 1961-3 ; Instructor , Infantry Junior Leaders , Oswestry 1965 ; Aden 1966 , Capt ; retired 1967 . He became an insurance broker at De Falbe Halsey & Co and he spent the bulk of his career at Lloyds of London . He moved down to Cornwall in 1996 and slotted right in , playing an active role with the church , the maritime museum in Falmouth , SSAFA and the local cricket clubs , hostelries and bridge clubs . Cricket , and other sports , were a passion and music and the performing arts also featured prominently He married ( 1 ) Frances Thompson in 1970 , marriage dissolved , and ( 2 ) Sara Hubbard in 1977 , marriage dissolved . He is survived by a son from the first marriage and a daughter and a son from the second .
