Roger George Baxter ( Co Ro , 1970 -81 ); died 21.2.2022 . Father of PLB . Sheffield University , B Sc Maths , PhD Applied Maths , FRAS , FRSA ; Junior Research Fellow 1965-6 , lecturer in Department of Applied Maths 1966-70 . Appointed to Win Coll 1970 with brief to introduce computing ; undertook first major rewrite of Durell ’ s 1930s timetable , formally incorporating Sciences and Geography ; also quickly absorbed into theatre , particularly stage lighting . Undermaster 1976- 81 . The transformation of gymna / theatre workshop into the QEII Theatre was another project close to his heart . Headmaster Sedbergh School 1982-95 . He served as a member of HMC Academic Policy committee and chaired Common Entrance Maths . Liveryman of the Gunmakers and Member of Lambeth Palace Library . He then promoted UK boarding schools , helping overseas parents with selection and providing regular assistance to the Minister of Further Education in the Emirates , and particularly the Crown Prince of Bahrain ’ s Scholarship Programme . He chaired the Robertson Trust ( Sedbergh ) and the Cartmel Priory Trust , where he served as Church Warden 1997-2020 and Treasurer 2019-2021 . He married Dorothy Cook in 1967 , who survives him together with their son and daughter .
