Wyoming "Spike"
So awhile back there was a big buzz across facebook about "out of water photos" and fish handling. First off , I'd ike to say that it is great that people are concerned, spreading awareness and educating themselves. That being said, we are all too often way too quick to buy into something, not read it entirely and just hit the share button. An article was written by a small flyfishing page which, when read and fully understood, was said by many, including myself to have done more harm than good to this great lifestyle. A renowned guide described some of the claims made in the article as "uninformed and unfounded". TPN's Nathan M described the blog article as "PETAesque". I happen to agree. Lots of people were becoming armchair handling critics and it was causing a lot of problems for many. We had what was intended to be a "theme for the day" on Trout Porn. Trout that were caught, photographed out of water and realeased multiple times, just like Wyoming "Spike". The theme of the day ended up lasting an entire week. Thanks to all of you (TPN) we had about 15 examples of fish being caught photographed out of water and relased from 2 all the way up to four times, most of them were amazing examples. TPN's Rueben B caught and photographed an amazing brown trout four times.
