Patricia Garcia , Marshall , was elected to a one-year term on the San Diego Superior Court Executive Committee for the third consecutive year and will continue providing policy advice for the presiding judge of the superior court . She is also serving her second year on the California Judges Association Executive Board .

Michael Genhart , Muir , a licensed clinical psychologist in private practice , has authored two new picture books for children , May Your Life Be Deliciosa , published by Cameron Kids / Abrams , and They ’ re So Flamboyant , published by Magination Press .
Emmeline de Pillis , Muir , was named dean of the College of Business and Public Management at the University of La Verne in La Verne , California .

Mario Aguilera , Warren , director of communications for UC San Diego ’ s Division of Biological Sciences and a frequent contributor to Triton magazine , received the National Association of Science Writers ’ Excellence in Institutional Writing Award for his story on the biological impact of Pablo Escobar ’ s imported hippopotamuses in Colombia . Joel Poremba , Muir , wrote My Name is Staszek Surdel : The Improbable Holocaust Survival of Nathan Poremba , The Last Jew of Wieliczka , published by Sunbury Press Books . Set between 1939 and 1945 , it is a story of survival , tragedy , hope and the resilience of a nine-year-old Polish Jew , Nathan Poremba , Joel ’ s father .
