“ In 1988 – 89 , we were roommates and the first occupants of Pepper Canyon apartment 1724 . ( We both had more hair back then .)
Within the next 10 years we were both in each other ’ s weddings and still keep in touch . We even returned to Pepper Canyon recently to visit the old apartment — who put a trolley station in our backyard ?”

Over the years , we have seen the loss of both of our dads — hers from pancreatic cancer and mine from ALS . She also taught me how to surf .”

“ In 1971 , my roomie Marlene Tuyay , Third ’ 74 , and I lived in Cabrillo Hall . She taught me to ride a 10-speed bike around the quad . We both became elementary teachers and we ’ re still friends today .”

“ Two of my suite mates were groomsmen in my wedding , Andrew Yang and Chris Ng , and another did some of the filming ( Kevin Isomoto ’ 13 ). Three others were at the wedding , Alex Ruiz , Kyle Hamilton ’ 13 and Lawrence Cheung ’ 13 . UCSD did a pretty damn good job pairing us all up .”
