A SEA OF CHARM
The waves were high and the hills seemed endless, but Larissa Krajasich
loved the new IRONMAN 70.3 Greece on the rugged Peloponnese coast,
where enthusiastic supporters lined the roads of the Costa Navarino
Resort and her room came ith its er o n infi nit oo .
his IRONMAN journey started,
like they all do for me, with a
simple picture on the IRONMAN
website – a picture with deep turquoise-
blue sea and lots of sun. I already saw
myself swimming in that water. I didn’t
check the exact date of the event, the
actual venue or even the actual course. I
entered, like I do with most of my races,
purely based on the emotions evoked.
Aft er entering, I immediately went onto
Booking.com and booked the hotel.
Again it was a picture that decided me –
a picture of a room with an infi nity pool,
where I saw myself chilling and cooling
down aft er the race, under the beautiful
Greek sun and blue sky.
As the event drew closer, I realised that
there were no direct fl ights to beautiful
Kalamata, on the Peloponnese peninsula
