College Prep and Leadership Development
The SnR Fall/Winter College Prep Program – The college prep program is year-long. It
provides an understanding of the value of a college education in reaching individual life and
career goals. Opportunities are presented for campus visits, making professional connections
in different employment sectors, coaching and mentoring.
The SnR Spring Leadership Program begins in February and ends in May of each year. This
program is designed to prepare the youth cyclists for their cycling journey in the summer and
their journey into the next school year. The Spring program consists of college visits, finalizing
college decisions, scholarship applications and for our graduating senior cyclists finishing their
high school career on a strong note.
The youth are still engaged in community service projects and several cycling events throughout
the spring that include:
· Hosting the areas’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival
· Organizing the Kidical Mass events for the year
· Participating various bike advocacy activities for May
· Training rides that are 35-70 miles every weekend starting in March.
Summer Enrichment
The SnR Summer Enrichment Program is designed to continue the catalyzation of the intellectual
and personal growth of SnR team members through continued team building, exposure to
national and historical sites that are meaningful to who they are and exposure to the important
and valuable content that people of color played in the role of the nation as we know it today.
