201 2 Year End Report Programs Spoke 'n Revolutions Youth Cycling Programs College Prep and Leadership Development The SnR Fall/Winter College Prep Program – The college prep program is year-long. It provides an understanding of the value of a college education in reaching individual life and career goals. Opportunities are presented for campus visits, making professional connections in different employment sectors, coaching and mentoring. The SnR Spring Leadership Program begins in February and ends in May of each year. This program is designed to prepare the youth cyclists for their cycling journey in the summer and their journey into the next school year. The Spring program consists of college visits, finalizing college decisions, scholarship applications and for our graduating senior cyclists finishing their high school career on a strong note. The youth are still engaged in community service projects and several cycling events throughout the spring that include: · Hosting the areas’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival · Organizing the Kidical Mass events for the year · Participating various bike advocacy activities for May · Training rides that are 35-70 miles every weekend starting in March. Summer Enrichment The SnR Summer Enrichment Program is designed to continue the catalyzation of the intellectual and personal growth of SnR team members through continued team building, exposure to national and historical sites that are meaningful to who they are and exposure to the important and valuable content that people of color played in the role of the nation as we know it today.
