Her dream came to realization in 2023 — and was met with ecstatic enthusiasm by the region .
" We have people come from Corbin , Barbourville , Williamsburg — even further ," Hendrix said . " We offer stations where children can play and interact and learn . This ( museum ) will be a blend of learning and play for all children ."
Some of those include a banking station that features cash registers and coins for children to learn to count money . A STEM station is an intricate design of pipes , while a sensory station offers different kind of adventure . A kitchen area serves up pots and pans by a sink and stove while the art center gives opportunity to draw or design with crayons , paints and other art materials .
The entrance sign in the museum offer a child-size doctor ' s office while a building center offers Legos , building blocks and other hand-eye coordination activities . Some stepping blocks further the challenge of coordination and balance . Just a few months away from their venture ' s first anniversary , Hendrix and her husband James made the right choice in bringing the activity center to the London area .
The London Children ' s Museum also offers special programs . " Parents Night Out " allowed couples to enjoy dinner or free time for a few hours while the children enjoyed time at the museum . Hours for preschool programs are also
available . Memberships are also offered as well as some discounts for first responders .
