Nestled in the Center Target Shoppes off KY 192 , the London Children ' s Museum brings a height of child development that is rare in southeastern Kentucky .

Each play area features its own unique characteristics that allows children to play , create , interact and socialize in an environment not found in smaller towns across the state .
The brainchild behind this unique play place is Maryann Hendrix , who oversees the everyday operations . Those include conducting classes for targeted groups as well as offering a structured setting where children can learn and play . The units focus on STEM learning ( Science , Technology , Engineering , Math ), sensory play , intentional pretend play , creative play , arts and music learning .
The establishment of a child-centered play center was a dream that Hendrix harbored for quite some time . She tired of taking her children to Lexington or Knoxville or other larger towns to experience something she felt was just as easily
