Shank , who holds a bachelor of fine art from Ball State University , co-founded a mobile application development firm and more recently has spent several years in the lidar industry .
VANDEHEY ASSUMES BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT POSITION
Paula Vandehey has joined Ayres as a Business Development Specialist in the Midwest Transportation Division , bringing over three decades of public sector experience to northeast Wisconsin and the surrounding area . She will be based in the company ’ s Green Bay area office .
Vandehey previously served as the director of public works for the City of Appleton , where she oversaw over 150 employees ,
administered a $ 60 million budget , and developed and implemented the department ’ s long-range strategic plan .
Vandehey holds a bachelor ’ s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison . She is a licensed professional engineer and an active member of the American Public Works Association ’ s Wisconsin Chapter .
Goranson holds an associate ’ s degree in applied science in electrical construction design and management from Dunwoody Technical Institute . She is an accredited LEED
Professional ( Building Design & Construction ) and is an active participant in many professional affiliations , including the North Central Electrical League and the U . S Green Building Council ’ s Minnesota chapter .
EXECUTIVE WELCOMED INTO ACEC COLLEGE OF FELLOWS
Jan Zander , executive vice president and chief operating officer at Ayres , was recently welcomed into the American Council of Engineering Companies ’ College of Fellows , a distinguished class of engineers who have been selected by their peers as deserving recognition for exemplary contributions to the profession .
Fellows candidates are nominated by peers through ACEC and its state organizations for admittance based on demonstrated personal commitment , service , leadership , and enhancement of the public image of the consulting engineering profession .
Fellows are encouraged to volunteer as spokespersons for the engineering industry at local civic events , high schools , universities , and other venues that provide opportunities to
advance the profession .
The newest ACEC fellows will be formally recognized during the ACEC Fall Conference in Colorado Springs , Colorado .
GORANSON STEPS UP TO MEP BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ROLE
Lyssa Goranson has been promoted to business development strategist within the St . Paul group of Ayres ’ MEP Division . Goranson , an electrical designer , has been with Gausman & Moore , a Division of Ayres , for 22 years .
Her new responsibilities include implementing business development best practices for the division , identifying opportunities , and finding new markets for her MEP colleagues to serve . Her experience as an electrical designer helps her
LEITH JOINS ACEC WI BOARD
Sue Leith , Ayres ’ marketing director , has been elected to a one-year term on the American Council of Engineering Companies of Wisconsin Board of Directors .
ACEC of Wisconsin presented its 2020 Chair ’ s Award to Leith in recognition of her leadership and reinvigoration of the organization ’ s Public Relations Committee , which Leith led from 2017 to 2019 . Leith also served recently on the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and was a member of the Strategic Plan Task Force , and she is beginning a term on the Transportation Steering Committee .
