Urban planner joins Ayres ’ team
Urban Planner Amanda Arnold recently joined Ayres ’ Development Services Division . Arnold has provided planning expertise as a consultant and from a variety of public sector positions , having worked for a regional planning commission , a transit authority , a township , and cities including Minneapolis . Her experience includes completing comprehensive plans , overseeing capital improvement projects , coordinating with neighborhood groups , and reviewing subdivision and site plans . Her experience as a municipal administrator provides her with a solid understanding of all municipal operations .
Arnold ’ s responsibilities include urban and campus planning , grant strategy and funding implementation , community outreach , research , data analysis , economic development , and land use . She also researches and analyzes data related to social , housing , commercial development , economic , population , environmental , and land use trends . She develops comprehensive , Main Street , and other urban plans .
Structural engineering , transportation promotions earned
Two Ayres engineers have received recent promotions :
Dave Pantzlaff was promoted to the position of director of Midwest transportation services . Pantzlaff is based in our Eau Claire headquarters . In this new position , Pantzlaff focuses his more than four decades of structural engineering experience toward understanding what clients need and directing the collective energy of Ayres ’ respected structures , hydraulics , and roadway engineers toward solving transportation problems . Pantzlaff has been a project engineer and manager for various bridge projects with Ayres since 1978 and managed the bridge operation from 1990 to early 2020 before becoming director .
from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville . He ’ s a member of the American Council of Engineering Companies , the American Society of Civil Engineers , and the National Society of Professional Engineers .
Dan Sydow was promoted to manager of structural engineering , taking the reins from Pantzlaff . In his nearly 20- year career at Ayres , Sydow says he has enjoyed the challenges along his path to this opportunity to manage Ayres ’ talented structural engineers . Sydow , too , is based in Eau Claire . Sydow ’ s project responsibilities include project management and engineering for highway and pedestrian bridges , buildings , dams , retaining walls , tunnels , existing structure assessments and renovations , and structural repairs .
Sydow holds professional engineer registrations in Wisconsin , Illinois , and Minnesota . He earned a bachelor ’ s degree in civil and environmental engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison . He ’ s a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers , the American Public Works Association , and the Society of American Military Engineers .
Tampa employee selected as ‘ Young Engineer of the Year ’
Mohamad-Waleed Gebarin , a transportation engineer in Ayres ’ Tampa ( Hidden River ) location , was selected as the Tampa Bay
chapter of the American Society of Highway Engineer ’ s Young Engineer of the Year for 2020 .
Pantzlaff holds professional engineer registrations in Wisconsin , Minnesota , Michigan , Florida , Georgia , and Arizona . He holds a master of science degree in structural engineering from Iowa State University and a bachelor ’ s degree in civil engineering
