Throughout the project, the City and the non-profit Burlington Community Pool Corp. that operates the aquatic center, relied on their design team – led by Ayres Associates – to help them develop a destination aquatic center complex. The team completed a site and facility analysis as well as an assessment of mechanical systems and a staffing plan. Concepts and cost estimates were developed for the new facility to reflect three levels of development. The design team also led the City through a public education and referendum process, followed by completion of construction drawings and bidding documents. “We are not pool builders and don’t have that background.
