In the living room , Susan wanted to create a more open feel . The original hardwood flooring was in great shape so they kept that and used walnut accents in the kitchen and complementary colors in the rest of the home ( in order tie in the floors ). Removing a wall between the small L cove entrance and living room and replacing it with wooden slats allowed more natural light into the living room .
