Coffee Italian Ices

Ingredients:

¼ cup sugar

2 tablespoons instant espresso coffee powder

½ cup boiling water

1 cup cold water

5 strawberries (optional)

Method:

In a small bowl, combine sugar and coffee powder. Add boiling water; stir till dissolved. Stir in cold water.

Pour mixture into a 9x3x5-inch loaf pan. Freeze about 2 hours or until firm. Break frozen mixture into small chunks; place in a chilled mixing bowl. Beat with electric mixer on low speed until fluffy. Freeze mixture for 2 hours or until firm.

To serve, scrape or scoop ice into small bowls. If desired, garnish each with a strawberry. Makes 5 (½ cup servings)

Starbuck's Munchies

Kahlua-Fudge Sauce

Ingredients:

1 (14- ounce) can low-fat sweetened

condensed milk

½ cup boiling water

6 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa

1 teaspoon instant espresso or 2

teasoons instant coffee granules

3 tablespoons Kahlua (coffee

flavored liquer)

Method:

Place milk into a small saucepan; cook 5 minutes over low heat.

Combine water, cocoa and espresso in a small bowl, stirring until granules dissolve.

Stir cocoa mixture into milk; cook 5 minutes, stirring frequently.

Stir in liquer, cook 1 minute.

Remove from heat.

Serve warm or chilled, over ice cream or over coffee cake.
