Giving Back Throughout the Year
Our employees across the company give back to their communities in a variety of ways . Just a few examples are highlighted below :
Collaborating for Charity
In February 2020 , Bill James ( Irvine , CA ) and Chris Harvey ( Chicago , IL ) teamed up TRC client BNSF to participate in the Minneapolis Polar Bear Plunge at Lake Calhoun . This event sponsors the Minneapolis Special Olympics , which is BNSF Railways ’ main local charity . Bill and Chris were able to make a donation on behalf of TRC as well as take a plunge into the frozen lake with BNSF personnel . Thank you , Bill and Chris for your focus and contributions to both the community and the client .
Educating the Next Generation
Colleagues from our Nashville , TN office volunteered at Nashville ’ s third annual Archeology Day , an event that raises public awareness of Tennessee ’ s rich archeological history . TRC hosted a mock excavation site complete with staff-planted artifacts and screening tables . Our volunteers Amanda Garvin , James Greene , Krista-Jordan Greene , Brenda Detty and Angela Blankenship demonstrated excavation techniques and taught kids how to properly screen for and identify artifacts . More than 600 people attended last year ’ s event .
Making a Visible Difference
As part of the Adopt-A-Highway program , employees from our Madison , WI office gathered this summer to clean up a segment of Highway 12 in Madison . TRC cleaned 1.5 miles of road , while socially distancing .
