INTEGRATING SUSTAINABILITY INTO WHAT WE DO
Our footprint extends beyond our operational footprint to our project work , with tangible and quantifiable results that often provide ongoing benefits , long after a project ’ s completion .
Promoting Residential Energy Savings through Energy Trust of Oregon
Energy Trust is a nonprofit dedicated to helping 1.6 million utility customers in Oregon and Southwest Washington save energy and generate renewable power . TRC runs the Trust ’ s Energy Performance Score - New Construction ( EPS-NC ) incentive program , which encourages builders to construct energy efficient homes that exceed residential energy codes by at least 10 %. We work with local energy raters to model the home , training them on the newest incentives and technologies , like energy smart homes and net-zero options . We collaborate with local nonprofits and women- and minority- owned businesses and include affordable housing and rural outreach in the program .
Over a two-year period , the program has served 8200 homes , with over 12,800 tons CO2 emissions avoided .
