Women’s Network
In FY19 we launched the TRC Women’s Network
with the mission of providing a forum to promote
career development and advancement for women in
our workforce. Providing opportunities for women at
TRC to connect with leaders for role modeling and
mentoring, the Network is a forum where women’s
career challenges can be discussed and addressed.
Inclusiveness is at the heart of our intentions for the
Women’s Network. This program targets technical
women, but activities are open to all employees.
TRC’s vision is to be an industry leader when
it comes to the percentage of women in the
workforce and women holding both senior and
executive positions.

At TRC, we are committed to a culture of
diversity, collaboration, and encouragement.
The Women’s Network is an important piece
of that culture, and a key aspect of our Employer
of Choice strategic pillar. When we created the Women’s Network,
we had a goal of starting three pilot chapters;
at the end of our first year we now have
16 active chapters, wildly exceeding our
expectations.

I’m excited to be part of this growing initiative
and look forward to more collaboration with other
offices and practices. The momentum is strong
and the future of TRC is certainly female. I appreciate the women’s network because it
gives young women, like me, a time and place
to speak with role models we identify with about
career goals and challenges.

The women’s network provides an opportunity
to network with others in the company, beyond
those we typically work with for projects and on
non-technical topics. It gives us a chance to share
advice and learn from others’ experiences. The professional reciprocity is not only
empowering, it creates an environment
that facilitates growth, breeds confidence,
expands opportunities, and develops lifelong
bonds.
