Liverpool office volunteer A volunteer group from TRC’s Liverpool, NY office par- ticipated in the annual Salvation Army Distribution Day. During this special day, eligible low-income families receive a book, a toy, and a stocking stuffer for each child in their family. This was the third year that TRC participated in the event, and it was TRC’s largest turnout, with 30 employees and family members volunteering their time during the holiday season. Volunteers worked at the stocking table, handing out bags filled with stocking stuffers for local families in need. Others helped hand out board games and books at another table. Another group of TRC volunteers acted as “personal shoppers,” walking around the event with the families to ensure that they received everything they need for their children. Donating lacrosse equipment to Haiti In August 2017 , a group from the Building Sciences practice was performing client work in Haiti. One em- ployee reached out to a local lacrosse organization and offered to help with their program. A community dona- tion drive was organized to provide Haiti Lacrosse with much needed equipment. This effort included setting up a donation bin at local schools in Brooklyn and New Jersey, reaching out through Facebook to other lacrosse parents in the community, and working with other la- crosse organizations. Through connections with other volunteers, a pallet of donated equipment was shipped to Haiti, free of charge, where it was picked up and dis- tributed to local schools around the country. 46 2018 Sustainability Report
