PROMOTING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Innovation and technology are key focus areas
for TRC’s growth. This will be a critical talent and
engagement focus in our 5-year strategy to accelerate
and advance a community of thought leadership,
bringing new and innovative approaches to our clients.
We recognize the benefits to and from employees
who enhance their professional capabilities and
qualifications through formal education.
Through the TRC Academy, we deliver a wide
variety of professional development and required
training courses. All new employees are enrolled
in the Academy as part of the onboarding process
and assigned required courses. They can also
access other courses throughout their careers to
maintain professional and state licenses, as well as
access continuing education courses for business
understanding, development, and enrichment. In FY18,
TRC launched training for new managers, as well as
a continuous leadership training program for those
experienced managers looking to enhance their skills.
Also, in FY18, TRC worked with Senn Delaney and
trained 50 leaders around culture and inclusiveness.
In specific and appropriate circumstances, TRC shares
or pays the cost of formal education through the Tuition
Reimbursement Program for coursework that is directly
applicable to the employee’s job function at TRC. We
also encourage membership in at least one

technical society related to an employee’s technical
specialty. TRC financially supports technical licenses
and certifications that promote individual growth and
development and also increase expertise.
In FY18 94% of our full- and part-time employees
received a formal performance review. We also recently
invested in new tools for performance development,
total rewards, and compensation planning that will be
rolled out in FY18, as well as the launch of monthly
manager training for new and existing managers to
support supervisory capabilities.
New hire sustainability training
One tool to help facilitate integration of sustain-
ability awareness from day one is our new online
training module for new employees, covering our
sustainability strategy, available resources, and
opportunities for engagement.
