Materials Management We are also committed to minimizing our material inputs and maximizing recycling opportunities associated with our operational footprint and service delivery. Because the majority of waste created in our offi ces is paper, we use paper as a proxy for waste reduction. We work with our vendor to track paper purchased in offi ces and en- courage paper-saving behaviors with our employees. Since FY15, increased awareness and changed behaviors reduced our paper usage by 27%, normalized to Net Revenue We are committed to ensuring recycling programs are implemented in all offi ces where recycling options exist. We also have several national contracts that offer recy- cling and take-back programs for non-traditional items, including printer cartridges, batteries and electronics. Currently 95% of our offi ces report recycling at least one waste stream 2020 TARGET Minimize material inputs and maximize recycling opportunities associated with our operational footprint and service delivery 96 % Offi ces recycling 37 % 3 Reduction in paper use 3: Since 2015 baseline Signifi cant Spills Recycling at Work Pledge TRC has committed to the Recycling at Work Pledge sponsored by Keep America Beautiful. Click here for more information on the Recycling at Work initiative. We also continue to explore opportunities to procure recyclable and/or resource-effi cient materials for fi eld- work. Communicating these best practices contributes to reduced environmental impact while maximizing fi nancial considerations. Our fi eld projects often involve the use of portable equip- ment and chemical storage that could potentially impact the environment if a release were to occur. We recognize the threats that material spills can pose to communities and the environment, and we take steps to ensure that good management practices are employed to avoid these incidents. TRC had no reportable spills in FY18. 29
