TRC | 2017 SUSTAINABILITY REPORT
ENGAGING IN OUR COMMUNITIES
BNSF Polar Bear Plunge
For the fourth year, TRC employees participated in the Polar Bear Plunge in Lake Calhoun in Minneapolis with our
client, BNSF. The BNSF team raised almost $9,000, including donations from TRC, which went to benefit the
Minnesota Special Olympics.
J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge
The J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge is an annual 3.5-mile race series that is a global celebration of teamwork,
camaraderie, and community. In July 2016, Huntington Family Centers received some of the profits from the race.
This is the sixth year that TRC has participated in this charity event.
NEXUS Gas Transmission Volunteer Event
In June, in partnership with the Washtenaw County Parks and Recreation and the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC),
TRC employees from the Ann Arbor and Scarborough offices joined other employees from DTE Energy and Spectra
Energy Partners, as well as approximately 30 local day camp kids in Rolling Hills County Park in Ypsilanti,
Michigan to celebrate pollinator week. NEXUS Gas Transmission sponsored the event to improve pollinator habitat
and educate the kids on native plants and pollinators. County naturalists and staff from the WHC assisted with
identifying plants and providing education on the importance of pollinators. Alongside the day camp kids, the group
cleared invasive species, planted over 700 native plants, and improved overall habitat.
Clifton Park supports STEM
For the fourth consecutive year TRC’s Clifton Park, New York office is hosted a student with an interest in clean
energy from the Clean Tech Early College High School program. The Clean Tech ECHS prepares students for
college and careers in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energy and advanced technology and provides the
opportunity for summer field experience for juniors and seniors with local businesses. The student gained hands-on
experience and high school credit during the 40 hours spent with TRC.
Oklahoma Robotics Team
TRC sponsored a FIRST robotics team in Oklahoma in April 2017. The FIRST Robotics Competition gives high
school students and their adult mentors the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common problem.
The sponsored team won the Gracious Professionalism award.
