TRC is a national engineering, environmental consulting, and construction management firm, providing integrated services to the power, environmental, infrastructure, and oil and gas markets. We operate on a national basis, through our operating segments and national sales and marketing organization, giving us the ability to respond to customer needs and dynamic market conditions.
We are committed to profitable growth through performance excellence. In FY16 we were successful in increasing net service revenue to $ 465.1 million from $ 408 million during the prior year. This reflects a successful growth strategy over the past five years, with net service revenue having grown at a compound annual growth rate of 14 percent, with a majority of that from organic revenue growth initiatives. Adjusted EBITDA demonstrated a CAGR of 21 percent over that same period. Our solid financial position and commitment to cash flow generation will allow us to capitalize on strategic growth opportunities. Looking forward, our new five-year strategic plan, to be rolled out in FY17, focuses on positioning TRC as the company of choice for our clients, employees and shareholders; with a focus on becoming the number one engineering and consulting company in North America.
Our goal is to provide end-to-end services in the primary market sectors we serve. We are a valued partner to our clients in the oil and gas, power, and transportation markets as those industries continue to undergo substantive transformations. Investments in natural gas and associated infrastructure, as well as clean energy investments from renewables, energy efficiency and new storage technologies are expected to grow in the U. S. These transformational shifts act as drivers for our business as we help our clients adapt and grow in a resource constrained economy.
