NEWS specification.

That output puts the Ibex 950 comfortably into the performance end of the adventure segment. Rather than simply being a larger touring version of CFMOTO’ s 800MT, the new bike has been designed with genuine offroad ambitions.
The chassis is built around a tubular steel frame and aluminium swingarm, with fully adjustable 48mm KYB upside-down forks providing 230mm of front travel. A fully adjustable KYB rear shock, complete with remote preload adjustment, provides 210mm of rear travel.
The wheel combination reinforces the bike ' s off-road intentions. The Ibex 950 runs a 21-inch wire-spoked front wheel and 18-inch rear, rather than the 19 / 17-inch arrangement found on more road-oriented adventure tourers. That gives riders a better starting point for tackling loose surfaces, ruts and rougher terrain.
Braking hardware is equally serious, with twin 320mm front discs and Brembo radial-mount four-piston calipers matched to a 260mm rear disc. Bosch supplies the ABS and traction-control systems, with cornering ABS and the ability to switch the rear ABS for off-road riding.
Electronics are a major part of the Ibex 950 package. The motorcycle uses a Bosch six-axis IMU, ride-by-wire throttle, three-stage traction control, wheelie control and five riding modes: Standard, Off Road, Rain, All Terrain and a customisable Master mode. There is also cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter.
For long-distance riders, CFMOTO has also packed the machine with touring equipment. An 8-inch vertical colour touchscreen provides the primary interface, while heated grips, a heated seat, adjustable windscreen, tyrepressure monitoring and CFMOTO Ride App connectivity are included. USB Type-A and Type-C charging ports add further practicality.
Fuel capacity is a substantial 22.5 litres, giving the Ibex 950 the range expected of a motorcycle designed to spend long periods away from major centres. CFMOTO quotes a dry weight of 199kg for the 1000MT-X, although final market specifications can vary. The standard version has an 870mm seat height, while the lowsuspension version reduces this to 830mm.
The low-suspension option is an interesting addition. Adventure motorcycles have become increasingly tall as manufacturers chase suspension travel and ground clearance, potentially excluding shorter riders from some of the most capable machines. The 1000MT-X LS addresses that issue without turning the motorcycle into a purely road-focused tourer.
CFMOTO is also using premium component suppliers where they matter most. KYB suspension, Brembo brakes and Bosch electronics give the Ibex 950 a specification that would once have been associated primarily with European and Japanese flagship adventure motorcycles.
For CFMOTO, the motorcycle represents another step in a remarkably rapid expansion of its adventure portfolio. The company already has the 450MT and 800MT, while the 800MT-ES adds electronically controlled suspension to the middleweight range. The 1000MT-X / Ibex 950 now takes the brand into the serious big-bore adventure category.
In Australia, the model is being sold as the 1000MT- X rather than Ibex 950. CFMOTO Australia announced the motorcycle for the Australian market at $ 18,990 ride away, with arrival scheduled for late May 2026. That makes the bike particularly interesting in a market where large adventure motorcycles are increasingly expensive and where value remains a major consideration for riders planning long-distance travel.
The Australian specification includes the 111hp engine, 105Nm of torque, 21 / 18-inch wheels, KYB suspension, Brembo brakes and the full Bosch electronics package. CFMOTO has also positioned the 1000MT-X as its most advanced and powerful adventure touring motorcycle yet.
The real test, of course, will come when riders take it away from the specification sheet. Big adventure bikes are expected to be comfortable on the highway, composed on fast gravel, capable in difficult terrain and reliable enough to be trusted thousands of kilometres from home.
The Ibex 950 certainly has the numbers to make a serious argument. With more than 110 horsepower, 105Nm of torque, long-travel KYB suspension, 21 / 18-inch wheels, premium brakes and a comprehensive electronic package, CFMOTO has clearly decided that its flagship adventure motorcycle should not simply compete on price. It intends to compete on capability as well. And with CFMOTO ' s adventure range expanding rapidly, the Ibex 950 / 1000MT-X could be the motorcycle that signals the company ' s arrival as a genuine big-bore adventure contender. TRAVERSE
