BMW ' s flagship six-cylinder K 1600 range also receives a cosmetic refresh. The GT, GTL, Bagger and Grand America adopt a new Imperial Blue Metallic Style Edition II colour scheme as part of the special " K 1600 Edition ", accompanied by revised wheel designs, updated seat trim and distinctive detailing. Several previous premium Option 719 paint finishes have been retired in favour of the new appearance package.
At the other end of BMW ' s heritage-inspired range, the R 12 G / S receives a new Frozen Brooklyn Grey Metallic finish for its Option 719 variants, replacing the outgoing Sandrover matt paintwork.
While many of the 2027 revisions may appear incremental individually, collectively they demonstrate BMW Motorrad ' s strategy of continually refining its range rather than waiting for major model overhauls. Improved equipment packages, simplified options, greater touring practicality and incremental performance gains all help keep the company ' s diverse line-up competitive in increasingly crowded market segments.
For buyers considering a new BMW in 2027, the changes also simplify what has historically been a complex options catalogue. With popular accessories now grouped into more logical equipment packages and technologies such as the M Endurance Chain appearing across additional models, riders can expect better value and easier specification choices.
The updated 2027 BMW Motorrad range will begin arriving in international dealerships from August 2026, with Australian pricing and local model specifications expected to be announced closer to launch. TRAVERSE
