REFRESHES LINE-UP FOR 2027
BMW Motorrad has unveiled a comprehensive suite of updates for its 2027 model range, introducing revised equipment packages, fresh styling options and significant performance enhancements across many of its road, adventure and M models.
Available to order through BMW Motorrad dealers from August 2026, the updates focus less on all-new motorcycles and more on refining existing platforms with improved value, new technology and greater customer choice.
The headline changes centre on BMW ' s flagship M models, particularly the M 1000 RR, which receives a substantially revised chassis aimed at improving circuit performance.
The superbike now comes standard with BMW ' s thirdgeneration M Motorsport frame, a redesign that sheds approximately 1.3kg while reducing wall thickness by around 30 per cent. BMW says the revised frame offers significantly improved flex characteristics, providing a more carefully balanced combination of stiffness and controlled movement to maximise grip and rider feedback under hard acceleration and cornering.
The new chassis philosophy reflects trends seen throughout top-level motorcycle racing, where engineers increasingly tune frame flex as carefully as outright rigidity to improve tyre contact and rider confidence.
Further enhancing the M 1000 RR ' s credentials, forged aluminium wheels now become standard equipment, while carbon-fibre wheels move into the options list. BMW has also retired the previous M Competition Package, replacing it with two new M Track Packages that bundle together popular performance accessories including the M Endurance Chain, carbonfibre components, billet accessories and, depending on specification, carbon wheels.
The same simplified package structure also extends across the M 1000 R and M 1000 XR, giving buyers greater flexibility when configuring their motorcycles for road or track use.
BMW ' s highly regarded S 1000 RR also receives updates for 2027, led by a refreshed M Sport colour scheme finished in Blackstorm Metallic with M Motorsport graphics. A tinted windscreen and forged M wheels are now included, while the former Sport Bluestone Metallic finish has been discontinued.
The M Package has also been revised, with forged wheels becoming the standard fitment and carbon wheels available as an upgrade. Meanwhile, a USB charging port is now incorporated into both the Dynamic Package and the M Sport Edition, reflecting growing demand from riders who rely on smartphones, navigation devices and action cameras.
BMW ' s middleweight F Series also benefits from practical improvements. Both the F 900 XR crossover tourer and the naked F 900 R gain updated Comfort Packages and now offer BMW ' s maintenance-friendly M Endurance Chain.
Unlike conventional drive chains that require regular lubrication, the M Endurance Chain features a diamond-like carbon( DLC) coating on the rollers, significantly reducing wear and eliminating routine chain lubrication throughout much of its service life. For riders covering high annual kilometre totals or tackling long-distance tours, it remains one of BMW ' s most appreciated innovations.
Touring riders have not been forgotten either.
The new R 1300 R gains an optional Touring Package that combines pannier mounts, central locking and a centre stand into a single factory option, while both the R 1300 R and R 1300 RS can now be ordered with factoryinstalled luggage holders across additional model
