TRAVERSE 50
WRWR is, at its core, a story of visibility. In 2019, the sight of that baton circling the globe made the invisible visible. In 2026, the baton may be virtual, but the connections it sparks are very real. And as midnight strikes in Orange this New Year’ s Eve, the next chapter will begin, not just for WRWR, but for every woman who takes the handlebars and joins the ride.
While the relay is global, the Australian chapter is fiercely proud of its local achievements. The WRWR Australia private Facebook group, founded in 2019, remains the country’ s beating heart for connecting, planning, and celebrating women riders. Growing this community is crucial to maintaining Australia’ s top ranking on the global leaderboard.
The event promises to be as much about camaraderie as competition. With real-time global stats lighting up the app, riders can watch the relay come to life— one golden baton pass at a time.
As the Christi sums up:“ Connect, challenge, change. That’ s what the Women Riders World Relay is all about. And Australia is leading the way.” TRAVERSE
