world, challenge ourselves to become better riders, and change the world’ s perception of who we are,” Christi explains.
The 2026 relay will run for 12 months, a major expansion from the 13-day sprint across Australia of 2019. Each rider who receives the baton holds it for a year, passing it to as many women as possible to light up the global leaderboard. The app’ s features include challenge series for riding skills, mechanical knowledge, community building, and industry engagement; location mapping to find local riders and events; and even a“ My Gear” section to rate and review equipment directly for manufacturers.
The team assembled is as diverse as the country itself. There’ s Belinda Keogh in New South Wales, Kim Killick in South Australia— already known for her involvement in all-women Simpson Desert rides, Kate Raymond representing the Northern Territory with her“ Elsewhere on Wheels” business, and Yvonne Barker in Victoria, familiar to many through Girl Rider. In Tasmania, Rayleen Glover and Sheree Wisniewski will take up the baton, while Queensland is represented by Mar Gómez García, the ACT by Rowena Smith, and Western Australia by Cathy Thatcher, founder of Gorgeous Ladies on Wheels. At the national level, Melissa Green will lead the launch night handoff.
“ These are amazing women,” Christi says.“ They deserve to be recognised because they are key players in making this movement real in Australia.
“ They’ re not just riders— they’ re community builders, mentors, and trailblazers. They deserve to be recognised on the world stage.”
For all its digital gloss, the essence of WRWR remains deeply human. It is about women riding together, sharing experiences, and rewriting the narrative of who belongs on a motorcycle.
