" Here is the most beautiful marble in the world ", wrote Michelangelo as he strolled through the deposits of the Fantiscritti basin , selecting the white marble that his art and genius transformed into sculptures of absolute value , such as the Pietà but also like the Moses , preserved in the Basilica of San Pietro in Vincoli in Rome , and the David in Piazza della Signoria in Florence .
