The outer pockets are said to be waterproof , yet with the snap fittings , and not zips or Velcro , we found this not to be the case . Water resistant , yes , waterproof , no … one river crossing was proof of that .
The same waterproof qualities are said to be incorporated into the overall construction of the M65 , we can ’ t say for sure how it would hold up in a downpour but can confidently say that there is a level of water resistance in light showers or drizzle . And for the style of jacket , we are happy with that .
In extreme weather conditions , mostly variances of temperature , the M65 has a number of features that aid with keeping temperature in or out . A soft , flexible collar , utilising corduroy works extremely well and is wonderfully comfortable . The sleeves are kept in place with Velcro straps however , the slim fit of the arms meant that airflow was restricted , this was also a consideration when trying to layer up in the cold , a simple hoodie was a struggle to fit beneath the M65 Jacket . Keeping some of the cold out is a removeable sleeveless liner , that simply zips in .
