The riding in Nepal is varied , well made roads soon turn to testing tracks , there seems to be roadworks on every stretch , you won ’ t be away from dirt for too long , and yet aboard a local bike , a Pulsar 150 or better yet Royal Enfield Himalayan , you will be at a pace that seems fitting . Short distances take all day , we ’ d say that ’ s what adventure riding is about , an easy pace that allows for exploration and to take it all in .
Despite connecting with neighbouring India , the road to the south , the H02 is no better than anything else , a full day will be taken just reaching a city like Hetauda and the connecting H01 , a similarly prepared highway that takes the intrepid to the west , along the Indian border . It ’ s here you will find a number of surprises that seem out of place from what the tourist brochures will have you believe .
National Parks surround the road known as National Highway 1 . Banke , Bardia , and Suklaphanta all offer the experience of riding through the jungles with the chance sighting of fauna rich and varied . Yet it ’ s the much-fabled Chitwan National Park that offers a greater chance and the opportunity to spend time with rich cultures and a unique human experience .
