A Lap Of Ireland Richard Georgiou 2015 ISBN 978-1-5168497-6-5
Short and sweet . Maybe too short ! It seems that Richard Georgiou ' s A Lap Of Ireland is just too short to get the full experience of what he went through whilst riding Ireland .
What the reader does get with this little gem is a well written story of what the author did , complete with many laughs . Georgiou has a way that will make you laugh regardless of the situation .
It ' s more of this that is needed , A Lap Of Ireland might be lacking in pages but surely the ride wasn ' t lacking too . We wanted more than just laughs with Georgiou ' s offering , we know he has more to offer .
Anyway , we ' ll keep the review short too ...
Riding In The Time Of The Plague Nick Adams 2020 ASIN B08DNY9RQP
Nick Adams is a fascinating writer , he has a way that draws one in and compels to continue until the end , Riding In The Time Of The
Plague is no different .
Riding and exploring during the Covid-19 pandemic , Adams explores the very notion of what it means to live through the lockdowns and restrictions imposed by governments during such times . He rejects the notion of judgement rather observing what the imposed conditions mean for the regions he rides and the effects it has on the local populace of Ontario . It ' s an interesting approach that is at the essence of travel writing .
Political observations do come up occasionally and these add to the overall flavour of Riding In The
Time Of The Plague , after all isn ' t this a travel biography and that ' s what they are about , observations .
Much more than the observations are the anecdotes that describe the locations , the history and the local cultures . Riding In The Time Of The Plague could be a stand alone descriptor of the regions and therefore a guide to anyone wanting to ride such an area .
This is a well written example of Adams ' work and we are grateful for it .
