before . A circular lattice mesh that expands when pulled out to form a frame to create a wall . It all circles round to be joined by a wooden door frame while the roof is formed by slightly bent wooden poles that join at a central crown , creating a round opening that looks skyward .
Astonishingly it is all selfsupporting and requires no form of nail or screw to hold it in place although many were lashed with simple ties made of animal leather . Likewise , the inner and outer walls although many were now held in place with ratchet straps and nylon ropes , the whole construction held in place under its own weight pulling inward . Ingenious !
Never witnessed , I ’ d been told that a regular sized ger could be fully constructed within just two hours , my realisation was that the design had been perfected over time to be so efficient as to allow ease of movement . Important when
