that it was necessary if they were to entice travellers , especially those of the West , into their world . Comfort is important however , I couldn ’ t see a reason to believe that the more traditional gers were less so , they ’ d been refined over millennia providing homes for countless generations of nomadic herders of the steppe .
Riding the Mongolian landscape , it wasn ’ t uncommon to witness a small car carrying the ger construction materials on its roof , occasionally a small Russian made van was the choice of transport , less so a horse and cart . Either way , it was a family seeking new lands for the pastoral animals that they were charged with looking after . In this regard the traditional nomadic lifestyle was firmly in place .
