interlinked by varying fire trails , four wheel drive tracks , and high country gravel roads . This is country that was at its height during the Victorian gold rush of the mid nineteenth century and has continued on through cattle grazing . It all means that tracks are everywhere and well worth exploring offering something for every level of rider .
“ The scenery is amazing ,” enthused Walsh , suggesting he was torn between the riding and wanting to slow down to take it all in , a sentiment backed by many of the riders .
“ Yeah , I agree ,” laughed a rider who wanted to remain unnamed for fear of being shamed that he ran off the road while looking across the mountain ranges .
The riding in this region is unique to the whole continent of Australia , there ’ s nothing quite like the mountainous terrain contained within the Alpine National Park where most of the riding takes place .
