It all means riding that is unique to this part of the world . Rainbow , and Molesworth , Tracks are a wonderful way to start but wait until you get further into the ride and experience the fast , open , gravel roads that link small communities that feel like a step back in time . With this comes the enchantment of being with the local people , watching a game of rugby at a local pub , or sipping coffee in a roadside stop in an attempt to escape the driving wind and rain .
Mountain passes , both sealed and dirt , offer a riding experience that never relents with the providing of adventure , it ’ s all created to offer an experience to any level of rider , and you won ’ t be disappointed even if you prefer a challenge . The Manuherikia River Track is a must for the more adventurous with it ’ s thirty , or more , river crossings as well as a length that is nothing more than river rock , complete with all of the thumps , bangs , and slips that go with it . A day on this track and you ’ ll be exhausted , a laugh with the other riders while thanking Tim for encouraging everyone to have a go . Of course , that is while celebrating the achievement with a cold beer at the “ Top Pub ”.
