riders aspire to protect . BDR says that land managers across their routes recognise this form of managed travel and see value in the roads that are being utilised for recreation . In doing so , BDR funds the creation of Public Safety Announcement ( PSA ) campaigns to educate riders about safe travel in the backcountry and responsible use of public roads . BDR also sees it as their responsibility to effectively communicate to BDR riders the importance of road closures , wildfires , and weather events .
“ As we continue to expand our network of routes , we are committed to making a lasting and positive difference in these communities ,” added Thorn . “ Educating our riders about safe and respectful travel on public lands and in local communities .”
With routes being added regularly and the positive impact to riders , communities , and the general public , a BDR should be on any riders list who intends to ride the USA , a great way to discover an often-unseen part of the country . TRAVERSE
