on the spending by motorcyclists using the BDR and off-road routes . Findings were based on economic impact calculations that are a function of state specific multipliers , industry specific margins , estimates of the number of out-of-state visitors , and the average spend per industry and state . BDR used the wealth of knowledge provided by its 65,000 plus email subscriber base through an online survey with responses collected between June 21 , 2022 , to July 27 , 2022 .
BDR is growing the sport , creating new adventures across the United States , each year with many new riders joining . It ’ s a group that is overwhelmingly represented by male riders ( above 94 %) with two thirds of riders being over the age of forty-five , it ’ s considered that many are retired from work or have the available financial investment or disposable income to be able to take part in BDR rides and motorcycle adventure .
It goes without saying that the majority of BDR riders are residents of the USA , with a great majority from the western states , almost a third of all riders are from Washington , California , and Colorado . The interest in BDR routes is far sweeping with almost all riders suggesting they plan to ride a route within the next two years . It ’ s an area that is growing and with it the boost to local economies .
