Mongolia is a country still to be drawn into the motorcycle culture yet , it is certainly happening . In Ulaanbaatar you ’ ll find KTMs are popular , adventure bike and cruisers make up great numbers , while the occasional Harley Davidson will threaten the peace . Away from the city bikes are more for the nomadic farmers and the adventurous traveller . Aside from the Dayun ’ s you ’ ll rarely see another bike and with that comes a level of curiosity , the people of the steppe are welcoming and keen to know who you are and what you want . It ’ s chance encounters that encourage conversation but be warned , Mongolian is a hard language to perfect in such a short time , even Google Translate struggles with the nuances .
