and the traveller , roadside restaurants , modern hotels , traditional yurt camps , all experienced on a ride with RusMotoTravel .
On completion of a lap of the lake we head south , into the mountains , to roads surprisingly good . Both the bitumen and gravel are sublime , some of the best riding not only in the region but on the planet . High passes give way to twists and turns that keep the rider engaged , these are wide roads that allow for a little fun , a scarcity of traffic allows for much greater enjoyment .
Following the Naryn River takes the tour deeper into the mountains and the gravel begins . At times punctuated by rocky outcrops , mud , and snow , it ’ s enough to keep the novice riders working and the more experienced engrossed .
The Fergana Range takes this ride to new levels . High altitude plains where a traditional lifestyle abounds , a friendly people interested in this ‘ new ’ form of traveller , something different to the horse and camel caravans of the past . This is a land of the nomad and of the Silk Road .
