temperature dropped the heated grips and seat were a blessing .
An area that needs to be considered for taller riders is the standard screen . Regardless of positioning it creates a level of wind turbulence that catches the peak of many adventure styled helmets . The buffeting will eventually drive the rider crazy , and it wasn ’ t limited to one brand of helmet , it seemed to happen to all of them , Arai , Shoei , Bell , and Klim , so we can ’ t blame the head gear .
The 1250GS is a great highway cruiser , and just as capable on gravel , despite its size it feels light and nimble , some of our riders said they thought it felt like a much smaller bike . Take it on the rougher stuff and at times the size was a problem . The wider 19-inch front wheel felt like it was declining to tackle rocks and sand , perhaps a little reluctant to rollover . Some of the lesser experienced riders struggled , forcing them to lose momentum , and then the bikes weight came into play . More experienced riders admitted that it wasn ’ t great , yet experience got them around it . There ’ s something in that .
