France In America Gary France 2013 ISBN 978-6-1632108-2-1
Never judge a book by its cover , well , this one says it all and hits the mark .
France In America , Gary France riding a Harley on the pavement of America . Done !
France In America is not a book for you if you ' re after descriptive turn of phrase , a biography of travelling to remote places and meeting peoples different to you yet , what France In America does offer is a look at the American culture through the eyes of a rider and his , at times , ecceptional photography .
France has provided an almost travel guide that is full of ideas , whereto ' s , directions and maps , complimented with comments and imagery . Yes , it ; s the easy stuff , but it is a guide to the vast and diverse land that is the United States in a format that could see it as a perfect accompaniment to your coffee table .
France In America is not a cheap purchase but one that some readers will find a perfect guide to their next riding adventure .
Slow Way Down Florian Rolke 2012 ISBN 978-3-9417601-2-7
Florian Rolke ' s Slow Way Down looked interesting , so we took the time to scan and translate from the native German it ' s published in . Maybe a mistake .
A ride down through Africa should be interesting and full of excitement , of adventure , perhaps danger , Slow Way Down had none , coming across more of an easy ride that listed one day ' s travel to the next .
Lacking description could be a result of the transalation however it seems too common to be just the translation leaving a feeling that the author almost didn ' t enjoy his ride .
We really wanted so much more from Slow Way Down , after all Rolke was riding a scooter . Although disappointed we love that the author gave it a go and needed to tell his story . M-aybe next time more descriptive detail and some words on the impact the ride was having could help , perhaps in the Fast Way Round ?
