riders all found the tracks a challenge , dust on one hand , mud on the other . The three dirt based courses challenged with distances between 141 kilometres for the easiest and 72km for the toughest , all said to take around 3 hours , most considerably longer . Terrain that challenged even the best saw riders take in the magnificent hills close to the banks of Lake Eildon . High Country riding at its best .
Some became lost , most exhausted , all with smiles worked together to find the best path through , and at the end of the day all riders returned to base enthused by the passion and excitement that rallying provides . Points awarded and prizes given , it mattered little to most who just wanted to finish the day with a cold beer and a story to tell . All went away , with a grin on their face and a promise to return for the next Openroads Rally .
Zahra and her team have created an event that will continue to grow and with it , the enthusiasm for rallying the Openroads .
