days ’ courses ; an uphill barrel race , high speeds , tight turns , and plenty of laughs ; the speedway flat track , more speed , and clouds of dust ; an enduro course that challenged the small , the big and the over enthusiastic . Plenty of laughs .
As the sun dipped below the nearby hills , Openroads organiser , Jessica Zahra officially welcomed everyone , introducing presenters of the ilk of Chantelle Simons ( long distance overlander ) and Dakar racer Scott Britnell . Both entertained with stories or travel , misadventure and the companionship that comes with motorcycle adventure , that that comes with events like Openroads .
An early night gave way to a stunning morning the sort that only the Victorian high country can provide , a nervousness filled the air as riders took to a bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast whilst preparing for a day of riding the unknown , that ’ s the beauty of rallying , it ’ s an unknown that will challenge at all levels .
