Openroads is a roadbook based rally aimed at those with little to no experience and caters for all levels of riding skill , courses include one tarmac and three dirt based , ranging in levels from beginner to advanced . This is not a competition , although riders are graded on time taken to complete their chosen course and whether they have picked up all hidden stamps . It ’ s the fun and comradery that is encouraged .
As riders settled , sharing stories of how they came to this years event , motorcycle trainer extraordinaire , Miles Davis took a selection of riders through their paces , providing tips on how to ride the conditions expected in the Victorian high country , most came away realising they ’ d picked up many unhealthy habits or needed a refresher on how to get through such an event .
