Producing a product to market to the adventure set isn ’ t always easy , the products need to be compact , strong , durable , and maybe most important the product needs to be practical with more than one use if possible .

Initially Wraptie came from necessity , born from an idea when Paul McNeill , a keen cyclist needed something that would hold is bike steady whilst juggling his young daughter in and out of the seat . It became an act kin to that of a circus performer ; one hand holding a child , the other holding the bike and his mouth wrestling with various ropes , cords , or straps to restrain the bike .
From necessity the best ideas are put forward and Paul set on a venture to find the perfect strap that could easily be wrapped and tightened using just one hand . In 2007 , the first prototypes of the Wraptie were born .
“ I played around with many different things ,” explains Paul . “ Different materials were used , different fasteners , different sizes .
“ I knew it needed to be something that was elasticated , with some sort of hook and loop fastening that could be easily used with just one hand .”
And there lies the simplicity of the Wraptie ; an elasticated strap with sections of hook and loop , a sort of heavy-duty Velcro ® if you like , that allows the strap to pull back on itself creating tension and holding the hook and loops together .
