Tasty , yes , Real Turmat rated well in this area , in fact they were the second best and yes , we know that this is subjective but when all five meals tested rated the same , we think that perhaps these could be some of the best and backed up by the second-best rating of the average nutritional values .
Not readily available in Australia , is a major downside although Drytech do post to most places outside of Europe , so we think that the positives far outweigh the negatives with the Real Turmat meals and could be an option to consider .

Strive Food and Campers Pantry are both businesses that have entered the dehydrated meal arena and both have produced remarkably good products .
Of all the meals we tested those by Strive Food seemed to be the freshest , and although dehydrated the simple clear cryovaced packaging allows the meal contents to be seen , perhaps a small comfort but one that works .
Coming in at just over $ 10 per serve , the Strive Food meals were certainly the second most cost effective and it didn ’ t end there . The weight per serve averaged just over 160 grams and the packs were thin and slim lined allowing for greater ease in packing into a panier or backpack . These were by far the best .
When it comes to water consumption Strive Food meals aren ’ t the most efficient , in fact at almost 400ml per serve they were one of the worst an issue more than made up for by the nutritional values and taste .
Strive Food are a small company on an epic adventure and should be considered for your next one too .
Campers Pantry take the next step and offer easily the most nutritionally valuable options amongst their meals . Our five test meals all had a taste that was similar in rating , not great but certainly not the worst .
