Chris is all about ambition , she ’ s definitely out there and it ’ s reflected in her projects that involved travel . Short term there ’ s a plan that involves riding the country roads of Australia , starting with New South Wales during the Covid-19 restrictions , chatting with locals in a town pub , even giving them a shave , haircut , or styling makeover . Filming for the pilot begins next month .
“ The nature of the show is to promote tourism and interest in country towns , communities and the culture within Australia ,” grins Chris . “ Seen as an observational , documentary makeover style of reality show .”
It ’ s an audacious idea , and when you see Chris step from her bike and stride towards you , hand outstretched , you get that this is an idea that might just work … the bike draws attention , the rider demands it . And then the laughter begins .
It ’ s infectious , especially as Chris recounts stories of the travel she has done . There ’ s a lot of image with this rider and bike , yet none of the pretentiousness of others who see themselves as travellers .
Laughter continues as Chris tells of when she hit a pothole on the exit of a corner on a road near Oberon in New South Wales , “ I went airborne and came down on the other side of the road facing the oncoming traffic .”
“ Horrifying ,” she laughs . “ But I managed to keep the bike upright .”
Chris is proof that riding can be for everyone , regardless of what you want to ride and how you want it to look . She offers that everyone should start on a scooter , “ get a feel for being exposed , the road , various conditions and the feeling of two wheels .”
It ’ s great advice , that has taken Chris to many places
