At over AU$500 the Gronland 3 tent by Tatonka is not
cheap. But, as they say, you do get what you pay for.
The Gronland 3 is a three-person tent, designed
to be lightweight and used for hiking, it’s perfect for
motorcycle travelling. At just under 4 kilograms, the
Gronland 3 packs down to a length of 55cm with a
diameter of 22cm, that includes the poles and pegs.
Amazingly small for a four-season tent.
Set up the Gronland 3 measures 425cm
long, 185cm wide and has a height of 120cm.
It’s not massive inside but a three-person tent is
perfect for two riders and all their gear. It’s the beauty of
this tent, the sleeping compartment has plenty of room
while the separate vestibule is perfect for storing gear
and even providing a living area, albeit small,
when the weather isn’t great.
All Tatonka tents are well made, the Gronland 3 has
an outer shell of 68 DEN Polyester with four layers of PU
coating, this is definitely waterproof. The inner lining
is made of 70 DEN Ripstop Polyester and is also water
resistant, while the floor is constructed from 70 DEN
Nylon Taffeta.
