highest quality while the smallest of mesh prevents even the tiniest of nasty’s from getting in. All seams are triple stitched and taped. Poles are aircraft grade T6 Aluminium. The downside, the lightweight pegs don’t cope well with hard ground, in fact, it pays to replace them with something a little heavier … a small price to pay. The Gronland 3 copes well with all conditions having survived several years of Australian bush and outback motorcycle travel; heavy rain, winds of over 100 kilometres per hour, scorching heat and even light snow have all been thrown at it. As a four-season tent, the ventilation is always the greatest; hot nights can become quite hot but that’s better than being freezing cold. Icy nights aren’t a problem due to the double layered skin acting as an area of insolation, it’s surprising how well it works. You’d be hard pressed to find a better tent for motorcycle travel. The Gronland 3 can be found at tatonka.com along with the entire high quality range from this German manufacturer. TRAVERSE 135
